"SET" 300 Word Narrative.

Understanding the appreciation of basic geometric shapes that are used in architecture is my intention.

As men has developed a long in history, we were able to settle in more permanent locations building lasting structures, geometric shapes as well as a pleasing appearance in all types of architecture.

Initial shapes, polygons and circles, different images generate us information, for us to be able to understand the reasoning between shapes, (Form and Function).

As I read through my Article Review, I was able to understand a design system.
Dimensions and forms, exploring 2d analysis and applying three-dimensional rules.

I want to create this, the simple appreciation describing the understanding of a design system.

As my video starts I want the viewer to understand the properties of a 2d floor plan, exploring around start with the application of some three-dimensional views.
(In order to understand the shape)

Showing shapes of architecture, identifying and explaining.

Understand 2d and three-dimensional rules, showing some different transitions, creating a set of photos, (showing forms and shapes of famous constructions around the world.)
Explaining my theme outline.

As the storyboard continues some words to appear, (like different quotes, words and certain sentences for the viewer to have a better understanding of my intention) some effects, playing with the camera, and backup music.

Showing the variety that exists, starting from basic shapes, and as the video “runs” show a variety of more complex forms, and as a result the experiment of different forms and shapes, that Architects apply to their works.

A process based on physical reasoning. Leaving behind the 2d design, that was a result from the analysis of our first drawings.

Closing my video, I want the viewer that can clearly understand the reasoning between shape and function, that in order to analyse your shape, we can create 2d analysis and apply three-dimensional rules.

"SET" Synopsis/Review of my Article.

Design Reasoning

In this article, you are able to understand the reasoning between shape, and prototyping.
As an introduction the definition of Abstract, they presented this as the production of a system that generates information for a physical model / with a 3d-printing device.

You are able to, describe and understand a design system.

When trying to understand your shape, you can start with a floor-plan as the initial shape, with a little need for an elevation drawing.

When you have your drawings, you are able to explore, and in addition of our own success, we can apply three-dimensional rules, which are based on the physical construction of a model, in order to understand your shape, leaving behind the 2d design, that was a result from the analysis of our first drawings.

After the explanation of some rule types (of design and construction) generating drawings to create and understand a physical model, I read a brief explanation of some methods like:
-Rules of design and rules of construction: a process based on physical reasoning.

-Brick as the unit of construction: The brick size determines the wall thickness, and brick dimensions varied from town to town.

-Manufacturing Designs: Making its way into many areas of the architectural design process.

-Walls, Ceilings, Cornices, Stairs, Columns, Door / Window openings, Frames, Details, Roofs etc…

With the example of a Palladian Villa, we were able to understand the reasoning between shape and function, that in order to analyze your shape, we can create 2d analysis and apply three-dimensional rules.

"SET" of Theme Outline.

A Journey Into Shapes On Architecture
The main idea for the 3 assignment is to create value and understand the appreciation of basic geometric shapes that are used in architecture.

“Man has always needed shelter. In order to survive they moved from place to place very frequently. They were content to live in caves and other temporary shelters. With the advent of agriculture, men were able to settle in more permanent locations, and they built lasting structures to use as homes. It was then that architecture came into being.” (http://www.yale.edu)

As years passed, man’s knowledge grew and principles of construction improved. Various geometric shapes provided maximum use as well as a pleasing appearance in all types of architecture.

I want to create, and show appreciation in the architecture that surrounds us today, having as a start, and the identification of the simple geometric figures.

As the video starts the narrative, I want the viewer to understand the properties of polygons and circles. And as it goes through, show a SET of different images, that can show some examples of the variety that exists, and start with basic shapes, and as the video “runs” show a variety of more complex forms, and as a result experiment different forms and shapes, that Architects apply to their works.
